Fund Features
No Sales Charge
The Sextant Funds are no-load funds – there are no sales charges (loads) or fees on the sale of shares. However, to discourage speculation, there is a 2% early redemption fee on shares held less than 90 calendar days. Please see the Prospectus for a complete discussion of management fees and other operating expenses.
Retirement Accounts
The Funds offer free Individual Retirement Accounts (IRAs) and defined contribution employer plans. 401(k) plans are also available.
Systematic Investing
Shareowners may authorize the use of electronic funds transfer to purchase or redeem shares without charge by completing the appropriate section of the application. Purchases and redemptions can be automatically scheduled.
Redemptions
You may sell your Fund shares at any time, without any expense or deductions, in a number of ways – including telephone and written instructions, electronic transfers, and checkwriting. You will be paid the market price for your shares on the day we receive your order.
Performance Advisory Fee
The Sextant Funds employ a fulcrum advisory fee, which rewards or penalizes Saturna Capital for the Funds' investment performance. Each Fund pays Saturna Capital an Advisory and Administrative Services Fee (the "Base Fee") that covers administrative services such as portfolio management, financial reporting, and shareholder servicing.
For each month in which a Fund's total investment return for the one year period through that month outperforms or underperforms the total return of its specified Morningstar Category, the Base Fee is increased or decreased (see table below).
| Advisory Fee Structure | |||||
| Base Fee annual rate | Performance Adjustment annual rate | ||||
| <1% more or less than benchmark | 1-2% more or less than benchmark | 2-4% more or less than benchmark | >4% more or less than benchmark | ||
